For most people, there is a single primary role that often is determined by their designation. If you wear multiple hats, you can add additional roles as secondary.

My Skill-Set

When you enter your skill-set, you can associate an experience level of "experienced" or "familiar" with each skill. The Gyanee Professional Network does not allow to rate the skill-set further. However, you can achieve the Gyanee or maha-Gyanee levels as described below.

Q) How can I enter multiple skills quickly?

Under a specific skill group, select multiple skills and add those all at once. All these skills will need to have the same level - either "experienced" or "familiar".

Q) How can I enter non-technical skills (soft skills)?

Select "Others" under skill group then select "Others" under skill name. Finally, type in the names of soft skills within "Other Skill" and click on "Add" button.

Q) What if my skill is not listed in the drop-down?

Select appropriate skill group then select "Others" under skill name. Finally, type in the names of additional skills within "Other Skill" and click on "Add" button.

Q) What are Gyanee and maha-Gyanee levels?

These are exclusive skill levels. These indicate that the member has deep knowledge about certain specific skills. maha-Gyanee is the highest skill level.

Q) How can I achieve Gyanee and maha-Gyanee levels?

The skill level of the members is automatically promoted to these exclusive levels by the Gyanee Professional Network based on the knowledge they exhibit on the network.

Q) What is the algorithm to promote my skill-set level?

The algorithm to promote the skill level looks at the answers given by the members to the technical queries and takes the following into consideration:

  • the correctness of the answer

  • the relevance of the answer

  • the timeliness of the answer

The algorithm has several built in protections to detect misuse.

Q) Why only certain skills are promoted?

The technical queries specify the combination of the skills required to answer the query. Only those skills are impacted by the answers. If a member answers a lot of queries related to a specific skill, it is likely that that member would be considered Gyanee or maha-Gyanee in that skill.
